Nine-year-old plans to read 200 books in 2024

Osaivbie Izedonmwen, 9, wants to read 200 novels by the end of year 2024.

It was discovered that he had begun the challenge in January, when he began posting reviews of the books he had read on his “Read with us” session through his Instagram profile and has taken the challenge to the next level by organising a book and toy donation drive.

He encourage kids to invest more time into reading after donating over 100 books to them on Easter Sunday alongside his older brother, Oghosa, 12, in their cousin’s church as both believed gadgets and laptops were taking away the love of reading amongst their friends.

Osaivbie who is currently in Grade four has always love reading from the age of three as its exciting.

“I think gadgets and laptops seem to be taking away the love of reading among children. I really like reading. It’s exciting. It’s like watching a movie in your head, but your imagination is limitless,” he said.
