The Nigerian Education Loan Fund has alerted the public on an ongoing advertisment going on about the Student Loan Scheme.
It described it as a “fraudulent advertisement”.
This followed advertisements on certain news sites promoting the website www.fedstudyloan-gov.ng as the application platform for the Federal Government’s much awaited student loan scheme.
NELFUND, in a disclaimer signed on Friday by its Media and Public Relations Lead, Nasir Ayitogo, said: “NELFUND wishes to clarify that it has no association with this website and strongly condemns any attempt to deceive students seeking financial aid.”
“NELFUND takes the security and well-being of our students very seriously and is committed to providing accurate information and resources for financing their education.
“We urge all students to exercise caution and verify the legitimacy of any website or service claiming to represent our organisation.
He, thereafter, disclosed that www.nelf.gov.ng is the Fund’s official website for student loan applications, which, according to him, will be open to the public in due course.
