The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund) has approved the disbursement of ₦20,075,050,006.55 to 192,906 students in public tertiary institutions across the country.
This disbursement, confirmed on January 1, 2025, aims to support students with their educational expenses.
Here are some details about the distribution:
- Bayero University, Kano: 11,683 students approved to receive a total of ₦1.3 billion.
- University of Maiduguri: 12,198 students will share ₦1.27 billion.
- University of Jos: 6,988 students set to receive ₦941 million.
- Federal University Dutsin-Ma: 8,978 students will benefit from ₦909 million.
- University of Ibadan: 4,907 students will receive ₦746 million.
- Federal University Dutse: 5,451 students will share ₦593 million.
- Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto: 6,480 students slated to get ₦578 million.
- University of Lagos: 3,685 students will disburse ₦557 million.
Institutions with fewer beneficiaries include:
- Gombe State Polytechnic, Bajoga: Four students will receive ₦122,000.
- Abia State Polytechnic: Two students approved to receive ₦106,300.
- Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe: Three students will disburse ₦214,116.
- Kenule Benson Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic, Bori: Seven students will get ₦315,500.
- Federal College of Education, Gidan Madi: Three students will receive ₦330,000.
- Federal Polytechnic Ukana, Akwa Ibom: 11 students will share ₦518,500.
- Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Imo State: Nine students are set to receive ₦368,400.
- Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, Owerri: 12 students will get ₦528,500.
