NECO Release Results of 2023 Private SSCE

The results of the 2023 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) have been made public by the National Examinations Council (NECO).

The NECO’s Registrar/Chief Executive, Professor Dantani Wushishi, also revealed to reporters in Minna during that it has placed two supervisors from the states of Oyo and Lagos, as well as one examination center from Borno state, on a blacklist for their involvement in exam malpractice during the 2023 SSCE

He said that the center in Borno was blacklisted for aiding and abetting the sharing of WhatsApp messages with candidates, while the two supervisors were blacklisted for inadequate monitoring, their incapacity to manage the candidates, and their aiding and abetting.

“The number of candidates that sat for Mathematics is 73,119 out of which 67,815 representing 92.75 percent got Credit and above.

“50,066 candidates, representing 67.35 percent, received five credits or more, including English and Mathematics. In addition, 63,539 candidates, representing 84.11 percent, receive five credits or more without taking English language or math courses.

The automatic annual posting calendar was also introduced by the Registrar to solve the issues related to posting Council employees for assignments away from their home locations. He also claimed that the unevenness and partiality that accompany staff members posting for different jobs would be addressed by the electronic posting calendar.
