Map of Lagos State

The Lagos State Government has raised boarding fees in all public secondary schools from ₦35,000 to ₦100,000 per term, effective from the 2024/2025 session.

This was confirmed in a letter signed by Olufemi Asaolu, the Director of Basic Education Services at the Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.

The letter emphasized that no additional fees should be charged by schools beyond this new amount. It also confirmed that the resumption date for the academic session remains September 15, 2024.

Parents expressed surprise at the fee increase, stating they had already paid the previous ₦35,000 fee before the new circular was issued.
