This decision was made to accommodate exceptionally bright students who are younger than the usual minimum age requirement of 16 years.

Prof Oloyede made this disclosure during an interview on the Sunday edition of Inside Sources with Laolu Akande, a socio-political programme aired on Channels Television.

He emphasized that while the minimum age for entry into tertiary institutions is 16 years, there are exceptional students who qualify for this special consideration.

The registrar also mentioned that over 2,000 candidates have already registered for the Exceptionally Brilliant Window since its announcement, including some as young as 10, 11, and 12 years old.

He expressed concern about parents attempting to manipulate their children’s ages to meet the criteria.
