FedEx

FedEx, one the biggest express shipping corporations in the world has donated money to She Code Africa a non-profit organization to support 100 African women as they launch their careers in technology. In order to provide participants with support, tech skills training, career guidance, resource provision, and internship opportunities are all included.

She Code Africa (SCA) is about to begin its much awaited Academy Program, Cohort 1, as part of an impactful project and exciting relationship with FedEx. The goal of this program is to empower women between the ages of 18 and 45 in the fields of software engineering, product design, and product management. It is a 12-week intense learning program that will run from April to June 2024. For the first cohort, applications are now being accepted.

Through various activities and events, She Code Africa’s initiatives have empowered over 64,040 girls and women. Additionally, through academy training and scholarship programs, over 7,000 individuals have received free training, and the organization has engaged a community of over 40,000 members throughout 20 African countries.

It is the mission of FedEx Express Sub-Saharan Africa Operations Managing Director Natasha Parmanand to create equal opportunity for all. Through our partnership with She Code Africa, we have the chance to significantly improve workplace relations and construct a better future by empowering women in STEM.

This partnership reaffirms our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and our belief that progress and change must always be made in order to advance gender equality. The academy program will provide participants with the exceptional chance to interact with a thorough curriculum from the School of Engineering( which covers Software Development) and the School of Product (which covers Product Design and Product Management) at She Code Africa.

In order to also help participants begin successful careers in the tech industry, they will provide them with access to a supportive community, expert teaching, and mentorship. Together with technical tuition, career coaching, and resource access, which offers a vibrant learning environment.

The She Code Africa team is offering a unique chance to top participants from each track who show remarkable performance: a paid internship lasting one month, with an emphasis on developing engineering products and platforms for social impact.
