The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has suspended its two-week warning strike and directed its members nationwide to return to work starting Monday, December 16, 2024.
The decision follows a conciliation meeting with the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment on December 9, 2024, where a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to address the union’s grievances.
Another meeting is scheduled for January 23, 2025, to assess compliance and address any remaining issues.
ASUP President, Shammah Kpanja, commended the union members for their resilience and commitment during the strike period and urged them to resume their duties.
