Urban Renewal Projects will last for decades – Makinde

Sèyí Mákindé, Governor of Oyo State

Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has assured that the urban renewal projects initiated by his administration will benefit the state for the next 25 to 30 years.

Speaking at the Christmas Carol Service and Nine Lessons organized by the state government at the Remembrance Arcade, Agodi, Ibadan, the governor emphasized that the road upgrading projects, soon to be extended to other zones, are designed to last, ensuring future administrations won’t need to budget for them.

Governor Makinde expressed gratitude to religious leaders for their prayers, which he credited with giving Oyo State strength and victory over the challenges of 2024.

In his exhortation, Bishop Wale Oke highlighted that Jesus’ birth brought light to dispel darkness caused by iniquities, offering humanity a path to redemption and salvation.

The event featured special prayers for Governor Makinde, his family, and the state, led by invited fathers of faith from various denominations.

The service was enriched with Bible readings, melodious song presentations, and a spectacular Christmas fireworks display that lit up the night sky with vibrant colors and patterns.
