The House of Representatives has expressed concern over the Executive’s delay in submitting the 2025 budget proposal to the National Assembly.
The Green Chamber criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration for non-compliance with Section 11(1)(b) of the Fiscal Responsibility Act 2007.
This section mandates the government to submit the budget no later than four months before the next financial year.
The House urged the Executive to meet this requirement and directed relevant committees to ensure compliance within two weeks. The motion was raised by Clement Jimbo during Wednesday’s plenary session.
