Starlink has temporarily reversed its recent price hikes in Nigeria, following regulatory issues that need resolution.
Subscribers received a message from the company on Thursday confirming the hold on the increase, which had raised the monthly subscription rate from ₦38,000 to ₦75,000 and the installation kit to ₦590,000.
Customers already billed at the higher rate will get a credit.
“Last month, we increased the monthly service price for Starlink in Nigeria to account for inflation, helping us maintain operations and continue delivering reliable service.
“Today, we are temporarily suspending this price increase as we navigate regulatory challenges. We remain committed to providing high-speed internet in Nigeria, but we need regulatory support to make the improvements necessary for a better customer experience.
“Without these approvals, our ability to continue delivering service is at risk,” the company noted
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) retracted a statement related to Starlink, and telecom operators voiced concerns about regulatory actions.
