Shettima opens MSME Clinics, Gives Ogun Traders Control over 200 Stores

Kashim Shettima, Vice President of Nigeria

At the well-known Asero Adire market in Abeokuta, Vice President Kashim Shettima announced on Tuesday that 400 entrepreneurs would receive 200 recently renovated stores to operate.

At the second iteration of the Expanded National MSME Clinics in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Tuesday, Shettima made the announcement.

According to the vice president, the action is a part of President Tinubu’s administration’s attempts to help small businesses by creating an atmosphere that fosters their growth.

According to him, the beneficiaries would get free access to the stores for a full year, after which they will have to pay reduced prices to continue using the facilities.

He predicted that the clinics and other initiatives will make it easier for tiny companies to grow into notable unicorns or empires.

“The National MSME Clinics serve as a bridge between us – between the people and the government. They are designed to bring the government in proximity to the people by convening all regulatory agencies under one roof,” he stated.

“This journey further reinforces my conviction that our paramount responsibility as a government is to persist in crafting an enabling environment that allows these small businesses not only to thrive but also to expand their horizons.”

The vice president stated that the overall goal is to “create an environment where innovation thrives, where Nigerian entrepreneurship is seen as a global force, and where our partnerships generate enormous benefits,” promising that the federal government, working with partners, won’t stop until small businesses realize their full potential.

He conveyed his belief that MSMEs nationwide may use their skills, inventiveness, and limitless drive to create more successful businesses with minimal assistance.

The state government of Ogun is “a guiding force in the federal government’s commitment to supporting enterprises and empowering their owners,” according to the vice president.
