The Federal government has flagged off the construction of section two of the Lagos -Badagry coastal highway.
The Minister of Works, David Umahi flagged off the project starting from Lekki Deep Seaport which is the border between Lagos and Ogun State.
He also led officials on an inspection tour of ongoing works on Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway and other road projects on the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Dangote Tax Credit Route, Eleko,among other axis.
Umahi said about ₦10,000,000,000 (₦10bn) had so far been paid as compensation to owners of structures affected by the rights of way of the Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway project.
“Construction of flyovers would commence first week of July,” he said.
He added that eighty percent of the road projects flagged off since the inception of the present administration on May 29, 2023 has been completed.
