The Sèyí Mákindé-led Oyo State government is intensifying its infrastructure efforts, approving additional road and school rehabilitations in Ibadan.
The approvals were given at the 12th State Executive Council meeting on Tuesday.

Commissioners Prof. David Sangodoyin (Public Works and Transport), Prof. Musibau Babatunde (Budget and Planning), Prof. Soliu Adelabu (Education), and Prince Dotun Oyelade (Information) reiterated the administration’s commitment to infrastructure and socio-economic growth.
The Executive Council approved the rehabilitation of 7.17 km of selected roads in Old and New Bodija, Ibadan North LGA, with a project cost of ₦5.63bn and an eight-month completion timeline.
This includes 4.16 km in Old Bodija and 2.68 km in New Bodija. Additionally, 1.7 km Molete-Challenge and 3.5 km Idi-Odo-Felele-Onigaari-Lagos/Ibadan expressway will be rehabilitated at ₦5.97bn, also with an eight-month timeline.
The State Secretariat’s road network, Agodi, the freedom flyover, and parking lots will also be rehabilitated by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.
For education, ₦1.15bn has been approved for remodeling and revamping Government Technical Colleges in Saki and Ibadan, in line with the World Bank Technical Vocational Educational and Training program.
The 2024 budget performance stands at 64.4% between January-September, attributed to the government’s commitment to infrastructural development and economic growth.
