Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has announced that his administration is working on implementing a new minimum wage for civil servants in the state.
Speaking at the 14th convocation ceremony of Osun State University in Osogbo on Saturday, Adeleke highlighted ongoing efforts to address the financial challenges brought on by the removal of fuel subsidies.
He assured government employees that plans for the new minimum wage were underway as part of measures to mitigate the economic impact on workers.
The governor also underscored his administration’s commitment to the growth of Osun State University, citing initiatives like the completion of an office complex at the Isale-Osun campus to aid health program accreditations and the construction of an ultra-modern Anatomy Complex.
He further mentioned the timely payment of staff arrears and palliative allowances to all workers.
Adeleke encouraged university staff and students to maintain peace and work towards the institution’s progress while advising parents and guardians to continue supporting their children as they transition to new life stages.
