The Osun State Government has announced a new technological approach under Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration to streamline the issuance of Certificates of Occupancy (C of O).
According to a statement released by Mr. George Alabi, the State Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning, the initiative aims to address delays by automating the Survey Clearance and C of O issuance processes for faster and more efficient service delivery.
Alabi revealed that the administration has introduced a Survey Clearance process, which serves as the first step in Governor Adeleke’s “C of O in 45 Days” program. This initiative promises to issue Certificates of Occupancy within 45 days of application. The Governor is expected to officially launch the program before the end of the year.
He further encouraged land and property owners in Osun State to visit the state’s land portal (landsportal.osunstate.gov.ng) to initiate the Survey Clearance process. The Commissioner highlighted that the program will not only speed up the C of O issuance but also enable landowners to access benefits like business loans from financial institutions, ultimately boosting the state’s economy.
The “C of O in 45 Days” program is set to commence by the end of 2024, ensuring that all landowners with valid survey clearance can secure their Certificates of Occupancy within the promised timeframe.
