The Dangote Group has refuted reports claiming that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has started lifting fuel from its refinery.
According to a statement by Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, NNPCL has not begun lifting Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from the Dangote Refinery, contrary to media reports suggesting fuel was being sold at N897 per liter.
Chiejina emphasized that no contract has been finalized between Dangote Refinery and NNPCL, and the pricing of petrol is controlled by regulatory authorities, not Dangote Group.
The clarification comes after the Chairman, Aliko Dangote, announced that the refinery is ready to commence production and sales of petroleum products.
