The price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in Nigeria has surged to as high as ₦1,200 per liter at several filling stations, while Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) outlets have adjusted their pump price to ₦904 per liter.
The steep increase has led to long queues at NNPCL stations, with motorists expressing concerns over the rising costs.
One NNPCL official, speaking anonymously, confirmed that the price adjustment occurred on Tuesday morning, and they are awaiting further directives to commence sales at the new price.
Many motorists are distressed by the situation, with some recalling past fuel price reductions under former administrations and expressing dismay over the relentless upward trend in fuel prices in the country.
