The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) forecasts haziness and sunshine across Nigeria from Sunday to Tuesday.

On Sunday, the northern region will experience moderate dust haze with visibility between 2-5km, possibly dropping below 1,000m in some areas.

North central areas will see sunny skies with clouds in the morning, followed by thunderstorms and moderate rain in parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Kogi, Benue, and Nasarawa by afternoon or evening. In the south, thunderstorms and rain are expected over parts of Ondo, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River in the morning.

NiMet predicts widespread thunderstorms and moderate rains later in the day on Monday.

In the northern region, moderate dust haze will continue, reducing visibility to between 2km and 5km, with some areas seeing less than 1,000m. North Central areas can expect sunny skies with clouds in the morning, followed by thunderstorms over the Federal Capital Territory, Kwara, Benue, and Kogi.

Morning thunderstorms and moderate rain are forecast for parts of Imo, Ebonyi, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, and Lagos, with storms expected in most areas later in the day.

NiMet forecasts moderate dust haze in northern Nigeria on Tuesday, with visibility between 2km and 5km, and some localized areas seeing visibility below 1,000m. The central region is expected to have sunny skies with cloud patches.

In the south, morning thunderstorms and moderate rains are likely over Cross River and Akwa Ibom, with further rain expected in various locations later in the day. The public is advised to take precautions due to suspended dust particles in the air.

NiMet advises individuals with asthma and respiratory issues to take precautions due to current weather conditions. Strong winds are expected before rain in thunderstorm-prone areas, so the public should remain cautious.

The agency also recommends that the public heed safety guidelines from relevant authorities and advises airline operators to obtain specific weather updates from NiMet for effective operational planning.
