President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emphasized the importance of peace and unity in Nigeria, urging citizens to look beyond political differences and recognize their shared identity.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Technology Innovation Complex (BATTIC) at the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) headquarters in Abuja, Tinubu likened Nigerians to residents of a single building, each occupying different rooms.
Upon his arrival at the NIS headquarters, Tinubu was welcomed by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Kemi Nandap.
The newly commissioned BATTIC includes several key facilities: the Command and Control Centre for regular migration, the NIS Data Centre, the ECOWAS Biometric Card Production Centre, the Interior Data Centre, and a 0.5KW solar power plant.
Nandap highlighted BATTIC’s role in enhancing national security by assessing the risk levels of individuals entering the country, identifying irregular migration patterns, and monitoring unmanned borders in remote areas. She noted that BATTIC sets a new standard for using technology to secure Nigeria’s borders and ensure the nation’s safety.
