He also declared a bonus of ₦200,000 for each corps member in Batch B Stream I, along with a gift of 20 cows and a trailer load of rice to enhance their stay.
He made this known on Tuesday during the swearing-in of the 2024 Batch B Stream I corps members at the NYSC orientation camp in Paiko, Niger State.
“All corps members serving in Niger State today are entitled to a ₦200,000 bonus from Niger farms,” he said.
“So, each of you has ₦200,000; I understand you’re about 1,600. So we are going to credit your account with ₦200,000. This is to give you comfort to stay in Niger State.
“We want to build a brand new NYSC camp. So, Niger State is putting ₦5 billion to build a new NYSC camp for you.”
According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Bologi Ibrahim, Bago promised to give automatic employment to corps members in the medical field upon the completion of their service.
“While reassuring them that the state government will ensure the security and well-being of the corps members, the governor used the medium to call on them to key into his agricultural revolution in the state, adding that the state government will support anyone who is willing to engage in farming through Niger Foods Limited.”
