NBS reveals most expensive Nigerian states to live in

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has released its consumer price index and inflation data for October,

This information identified Bauchi, Kebbi, and Sokoto as the three most expensive states to live in Nigeria.

According to the data, Bauchi State experienced the highest year-on-year inflation rate at 46.68% in October 2024. This was followed by Kebbi at 40.02% and Sokoto at 39.65%. On the other hand, Delta (27.85%), Benue (28.22%), and Katsina (29.59%) recorded the lowest increases in headline inflation on a year-on-year basis.

In terms of food inflation for October 2024, Sokoto led with a rate of 52.18%, followed by Edo at 46.55%, and Borno at 45.85%. Conversely, Kwara (31.68%), Kogi (33.30%), and Rivers (33.87%) reported the slowest rises in food inflation on a year-on-year basis.
