The naira depreciated further against the dollar, weakening to ₦1660.49 per dollar on Thursday from ₦1659.69 on Wednesday.
In three days, it has lost ₦107.5. In the black market, it remained at ₦1705 per dollar.
Despite efforts by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to stabilize the naira, the currency remains volatile.
CBN Governor Olayemi Cardoso highlighted that a weak naira could benefit the country if investments are made, while the World Bank noted the naira as one of Africa’s worst-performing currencies.
