Naira depreciates for third consecutive day

The naira fell for the third consecutive time against the dollar in 2025.

On Wednesday, it dipped to ₦1,541.70 per dollar from ₦1,537.03 on Tuesday, according to FMDQ data, reflecting a ₦4.67 drop in the official market.

Meanwhile, in the black market, the naira gained ₦5, closing at ₦1,660 on Wednesday compared to ₦1,665 on Tuesday.

Since the week began on Monday, the naira has continuously depreciated against the dollar in the official market. However, in the parallel market, the naira has remained stable at ₦1,665 per dollar, except for today.
