The naira significantly appreciated in the official foreign exchange market, ending the week on a stronger note.
According to FMDQ data, the naira strengthened to N1,531.20 against the dollar on Friday from N1,548.59 on Thursday, marking a gain of N17.39.
Meanwhile, in the black market, the naira closed at N1,660 per dollar on Friday, compared to N1,650 on Thursday.
Throughout the week under review, the naira recorded more gains than losses, with a week-on-week appreciation of N16.38 per dollar.
This development comes as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Olayemi Cardoso, announced that the country’s economy is expected to grow in 2025.
