The naira appreciated against the dollar at the foreign exchange market at the close of business on Thursday.
According to FMDQ data, the naira strengthened to N1,658.57 per dollar on Thursday, up from N1,687.52 on Wednesday. This represents a gain of N28.95 against the dollar.
However, in the black market, the naira fell to N1,755 per dollar on Thursday, down from N1,750 the previous day.
This decline comes as FX transaction turnover dropped to $163.66 million on Thursday from $173.29 million on Wednesday.
