Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State announced plans to raise the minimum wage for state workers to ₦85,000.
He made this known during an interview on Channels TV, where he revealed that the decision followed discussions with labor unions.
Sanwo-Olu emphasized that this move is based on the state’s affordability and capacity, rather than competing with other regions.
The announcement comes shortly after the federal government agreed to a ₦70,000 minimum wage.
