Lagos reveals traffic control plan ahead of Petrol Loading

Fuel Tankers at Dangote Refinery

The Lagos State Government has developed a comprehensive traffic management strategy to ensure smooth traffic flow along the Lekki-Ajah corridor in preparation for the Dangote Refinery’s distribution of refined petrol.

This was announced by Sola Giwa, Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Transportation, in a statement aimed at reassuring the public of the government’s commitment to managing traffic and ensuring citizens’ welfare.

Giwa stated that the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has been equipped with advanced technology and highly trained personnel to handle traffic within the area.

In collaboration with other stakeholders, LASTMA has also mobilized tow trucks and emergency response equipment to swiftly address any disruptions, while medical ambulances are on standby for emergencies.

The state government stressed that tanker operators must adhere strictly to traffic regulations during loading and transportation in the Lekki-Ajah axis. Enforcement of these regulations will be strict to prevent traffic issues.

Additionally, commercial bus operators and motorists were urged to follow all traffic laws, such as using designated bus stops, avoiding one-way driving, and observing road signs.
