The Lagos State Government has cracked down on illicit property developments around the Epe corridor of the state.
This was contained in a statement by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Oluyinka Olumide.
He mentioned that he spearheaded a unique collaborative operation to the area on Thursday and Friday, following the instruction of the state executive council.
He listed some of the locations covered during the operation to include: Alaro City, Okorisan, Igbodu, Molajoye, Shaala, Ketu, and Epe.
Olumide noted that notifications were also delivered to property projects such as Patriot Bay Estate, Smart City Estate, the Legend, and Hilton Royal Garden.
Additional developments included Greenland Estate, Legacy City, Isinmi Lagos, Dominion City, Topview Estate, and Ibi Alafia, among others.
He emphasized that developers found in violation were urged to approach relevant authorities to finalize their paperwork.
Furthermore, he stressed that no developer should proceed with estate development without obtaining layout approval, planning permit, and fencing permit as required.
The commissioner further emphasized that these prerequisites were crucial to achieve a well-organized, habitable, and environmentally sustainable built landscape.
Olumide elaborated that layout approval was essential for the orderly arrangement of the estate, allowing for adequate provision of services and infrastructure, while the planning permit addressed the specific planning requirements for individual plots within the estate.
He advised prospective property buyers to exercise caution when investing in estates lacking approval to avoid unnecessary confrontations with government authorities.
