The Minister of Works and Former Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, has said that the ongoing Lagos-Calabar coastal highway costs the Federal Government ₦4 billion per kilometer.
He revealed this during a television program with TVC on Wednesday in Lagos, stating that the project, which is said to be 700 km, will be completed at a total cost of ₦2.8 trillion.
He further explained that the project adhered to proper procurement procedures, clarifying that the contract was awarded based on counter-funding rather than Public-Private Partnership as being insinuated in some quarters.
