The Federal Operations Unit of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Zone B, under the leadership or Controller Dalha Wada Chedi, has intercepted goods worth ₦769,465,907.46 in the zone between February 17 and March 28, 2024.
698 bags of rice 367 cartons of spaghetti, macaroni and couscous, 136 bales of secondhand clothing, 715 jerry cans of petrol, 65 jerry cans of foreign refined vegetable oil, 12 used vehicles, four units of means of conveyance, nine cartons of chakapain xtra (50mg), 425.5 cartons of foreign milky creamer and milk powder, 136 pieces of foreign used tires are the items seized from various individuals.
In his speech, he urged the public to utilize the 90-day window to regularise their improperly imported vehicles, especially in light of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s suspension of the 25 per cent penalty earlier imposed in addition to import duty on improperly imported vehicles to make it more accessible to citizens.
