The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited announced on Saturday that around 300 trucks have arrived at the Dangote Refinery ahead of the planned loading of petrol, set to commence on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
According to NNPC’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, this marks a significant step as the company prepares for the distribution of the refinery’s first batch of petrol.
Soneye confirmed the arrival of trucks via X (formerly Twitter), noting, “By the end of today, at least 300 trucks will be stationed at the refinery’s fuel loading gantry.”
NNPC further elaborated that the trucks have been mobilized to the refinery’s Ibeju-Lekki loading gantry, with over 100 trucks already deployed and more on their way.
This development follows the announcement last week by Aliko Dangote, Chairman of the Dangote Group, that fuel production had officially begun at the refinery.
