Petroleum marketers have scheduled a meeting with the Department of State Services (DSS) on Wednesday, 9 October 2024, to discuss the price and availability of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.
The President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) confirmed this in an interview with DAILY POST on Monday. While he did not provide specific details, he noted that the meeting would focus on petrol pump prices and its availability to oil marketers.
He said, “The meeting with DSS is primarily about the petrol pump price and its availability to IPMAN members. More information will be shared after the meeting.”
This comes amidst reports of Nigerians purchasing fuel at prices between ₦950 and ₦1,200 per liter across the country.
It was also reported that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) stepped down as the sole off-taker of Dangote Refinery’s petrol. The refinery began distribution in September, coinciding with an increase in petrol prices by the NNPCL.
