The Federal Government has commenced the payment of the delayed November 2024 salaries for civil servants.
The delay was due to the ongoing migration from the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) to the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS), which disrupted operations in various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
The delay caused significant distress among civil servants, many of whom were eagerly awaiting their pay amid rising inflation and increasing hardship.
A senior director in the Federal Ministry of Defence confirmed the payment, noting that some workers were contemplating staying home due to the extended delay. A teacher in a government school also confirmed receiving her salary, expressing relief after weeks of financial strain.
