Through its National Housing Program, the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has announced that it will provide 8925 houses to successful applicants.
Dr. Marcus Ogunbiyi, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, labeled the allocation as a step to help the public with accessible housing options.
He further said the allocation will result in a thorough evaluation of the requirement and procedure guiding the sale of houses under the National Housing Program in respect to the circular from December 2023.
The distribution includes a range of housing plans customize to meets the applicants demand, including mortgage, rent-to-own, outright and installmental payments.
Profiles of applicant required to be National Housing Fund subscribers and who are registered for the plan are being created. Out of 8,925 applications total —1,294 for outright payment, 2,408 for mortgage, 2,184 for rent-to-own, and 3,039 for installment payments were received, according to the government.
Those who are successful in receiving full payment will be given offers for new, provisional allocations, and as from Thursday, April 18, subscribers will be contacted by the Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) and Federal Controllers of Housing and Urban Development in each state for further coordination.
