ABUJA City Gate

On Sunday, thieves stole food supplies from a government storage facility in Gwagwa town, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Few locals claimed that young people from their group sneaked into the warehouse near the Tasha neighborhood at around seven in the morning and stole bags of grain and corn.

According to residents, looting went on unchecked until nine in the morning, when he spoke with our reporter.

According to them, some locals and others from the nearby towns of Jiwa and Karmo flocked to the location in order to share in the bounty.

They said that the Gwagwa-Karmo route, which goes to the Dei-Dei and Jabi axes, respectively, is currently blocked due to the circumstances.

Throughout the Covid-19 lockdown, the warehouse was also plundered. The looters took grain bags and intervention-purpose pumping devices from the site.

Following their raid on the store, the rabble-rousing youngsters moved toward Idu Industrial Estate, which is home to both government and private warehouses.
