On Thursday, the equity market experience its fourth consecutive bullish run as investors gained about ₦259 billion.
The Nigerian Exchange market capitalisation and benchmark index appreciated by 0.46 percent. The benchmark index close at 99.276.03 point while the market capitalisation close at ₦56.16 trillion.
The increased trading activity dominated the day’s trade with the exchange recording 32 gainers and 12 losers on Tuesday.
At the close of trading on Tuesday, the equity market sustained its bullish trend as investors gained ₦294 billion.
Top gainers of the day included International Energy Insurance and Seplat Energy which added 10 per cent to close at ₦1.54 and ₦3.410, respectively and Eterna with 9.87 per cent to close at ₦12.25.
The top decliners on the chart were Cornerstone Insurance, which dropped 8.81 percent to close at ₦1.75, International Breweries Plc, which fell 8.75 percent to ₦3.65, and Prestige Assurance Company, which declined 8.47 percent to ₦0.54.
The number of deals dipped by 9.59 per cent to 7,035, while the trading volume decreased by 40.32 per cent to 309, 714,120 million traded shares.
The consumer goods and insurance indexes increased by 1.1 per cent and 0.7 per cent, respectively.
Increased interest in UBA, First Bank Holdings, Seplat, and Japaul Gold and Ventures Plc boosted the Banking and Oil and Gas indexes, which rose by 2.4 percent and 1.9 percent, respectively.
