Tripartite Committee on New Minimum Wage in closed-door meeting

The tripartite committee on the new national minimum wage has kicked off its meeting.

It is currently holding behind closed doors at the Nicon Luxury Hotel in Abuja.

It is the fifth meeting since the Organised Labour suspended its nationwide strike.

Director General of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF); the Minister of Labour and Employment (State) Nkiruka Onyejeocha, the Governor of Imo State Hope Uzodimma; a representative of the Salaries, Income and Wages Commission; the Minister of Finance Wale Edun as well as the Minister of Budget and National Planning Atiku Bagudu are all in attendance.

Hope Uzodinma, Governor of Imo State, on Thursday, gave the assurance that a minimum wage figure would be reached and probably announced on Friday (Today).
