The Comptroller-General of Immigration (CGI), Kemi Nandap, has ordered the resumption of Personnel to their duty posts & lifting of restrictions on movement at Nigeria- Niger border.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Acting Service Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr Kenneth Kure, on Thursday in Abuja.
The order follows the directive of the Federal Government for the reopening of the borders between the two countries which has been closed for a while.
The CGI directed all Comptrollers stationed at States and Border Commands along the Nigeria-Niger Republic border to promptly resume and lift all restrictions on human movement.
“Following the directive from the Federal Government of Nigeria to reopen borders between Nigeria and Niger Republic, the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nanna Nandap, has issued a directive to all Comptrollers stationed at States and Border Commands along the Nigeria-Niger Republic border, to promptly ensure strict compliance and lift restrictions on human movements,” the statement read in part.
She also gave the assurance that the service would continue to facilitate safe and orderly border crossings while safeguarding the integrity and security of Nigeria’s borders.
