Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, the Oyo State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, officially opened the Royal Entertainment Cruise firm, which provides boat cruise services, at Ibadan’s Eleyele Waterfront on Wednesday. The company’s arrival is expected to boost aqua tourism in the state.
As Dr. Olatubosun congratulated Mr. Sanmi Bamidele on his accomplishment as CEO, he reminded him that safety was a critical factor in the company’s success.
The CEO of Royal Entertainment was praised by the commissioner for being the first in the state to venture into the aqua tourist industry.Speaking about the state governor’s initiatives to boost tourism, Olatubosun stated that Governor Seyi Makinde had constructed a robust road network connecting each of the state’s zones, facilitating simple travel around the region.
He continued by saying that this had been made possible by the installation of structures to control tourism in the area, the “Light-up Oyo” initiative, and the deployment of sufficient security.
Olatubosun said, “To run the cruise effectively and for people to feel drawn towards it, there have to be some essential things in place like an emergency unit, lifeguards, tracking system, partnership with a hospital and reserve boats in case of an emergency, because the safety of the tourists is paramount. These are the things that will promote the cruise to tourists.”
Additionally, he promised that the Eleyele Waterfront and the boat cruise company will be included among the state’s tourist attractions, saying, “We will ensure it is listed as one of the tourism destinations in Oyo State, especially in Ibadan.”
During his speech, the CEO of Royal Entertainment Cruise thanked the Oyo State Government, particularly the governor, for the chance and encouragement for the project.
He claimed that he wanted to create a location where people could experience aqua tourism without having to travel to Lagos, which is why he chose to found the company in Ibadan.
“The main purpose of this service that we provide is to enable people to come and relieve stress and unwind in a comfortable setting,” Bamidele stated.
