Adedeji Adeleke, father of Nigerian musician Davido, has revealed that his new 1,250MW thermal power plant will be operational by January 2025.
Speaking at the Seventh Day Adventist General Conference, Adeleke shared his challenges, including government bottlenecks and prayer for divine intervention.
“I generate 15% of the electric power consumed by Nigeria; I am building the biggest thermal power plant in Nigeria to be launched in January 2025,” he said.
The $2 billion project, located in Ondo State, involved collaboration with Chinese engineering firms and provided over 1,000 jobs.
Despite setbacks, including theft of turbine components worth $5 million, the plant is nearing completion.
