Abuja, Nasarawa, Niger, and Kogi states are some days from darkness as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has issued the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) a five-working-day disconnection notice over non-compliance with the provisions of the Market Rules.
This was contained in a disconnection notice signed on Friday by TCN’s Market Operator, Ali Ahmad.
TCN stated that the proposed disconnection date is July 28, 2024.
“The Market Operator hereby issues a disconnection order for Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) for its non-compliance with the provisions of the Market Rules.
“The defaulting Market Participant, AEDC, has been duly notified of their infractions concerning non-compliance with Section 15.3.3.a of the Market Rules.
“Newspaper publication has been made in line with the application of the Rules, which gives AEDC a deadline of five (5) business days from the date to remedy its Market Rules infractions.”
TCN noted the disconnection will be done at the 33kV feeder from the 132/33kV Katampe 1 Transmission Station and Feeder 3 from the 132/33kV Central Area Transmission Station.
