Taraba Governor appoints 1,270 Assistants

Agbu Kefas, Governor of Taraba State has appointed 1,270 executive aides.

Report has it that a total of 1,075 were appointed within 24 hours between Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th July 2024.

Meanwhile, a press statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government Gebon Kataps said the appointees are to serve as either special advisers, senior special assistants, special assistants, constituency special assistants, or members of boards, commissions, and agencies of the Taraba government.

The state government has been releasing appointees’ names in phases. As of Monday, 573 names were announced, followed by 502 more on Tuesday night, in addition to the 195 names previously approved.

These appointees have not yet been assigned portfolios. These appointments add to the five individuals who were given portfolios in the cabinet when the government assumed office.

The final batch of appointees is still awaited, with the state government indicating that the appointments will be made in four phases.
