Oyo begins traders registration

Sèyí Makinde, Governor of Oyo State

The biometric enumeration of traders, artisans, industrialists, and members of cooperative organizations in Oyo State has been approved by Governor Seyi Makinde.

The Head of Service, Mrs. Olubunmi Oni, announced the launch of the “Ise D’otun” operation in Ibadan, saying that it will assist the government in obtaining information about the state’s industrialists, traders, craftsmen, and cooperative society members.

She continued by saying that the goal of the exercise was to increase democracy’s benefits and make sure that the general public benefited from it.

In order to help their businesses grow through various opportunities for support from the government, investors, and non-governmental organizations, the HoS urged traders, artisans, and other groups targeted in the exercise to collaborate with the state government for the collection of their data.

Ademola Ojo, the state commissioner for trade, industry, investment, and cooperatives, said during the event that the state government would be able to assist local and international grants, loans, and other forms of support for the traders, artisans, and others if it had accurate data on the informal sector.
