The naira maintained its newly found form against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market.
According to data from FMDQ, the naira gained ₦2.9 at ₦1593.62 per dollar on Thursday from the ₦1596.52 exchanged on Wednesday.
In the same vein, the Naira recorded a much-needed gain against the Dollar at the black market foreign exchange on Thursday.
The national currency appreciated by ₦10.00k.
Naira was sold at ₦1610 per dollar from ₦1620 on Wednesday, according to a Daily Post report.
“We buy at ₦1605 and sell at ₦1610 on Thursday”, a Bureau De Change Operator in Wuse Zone 4, Dayyabu Ashiru told the newspaper.
This is sequel to the commencement of CBN’s Retail Dutch Auction System on Wednesday. The apex bank said it sold $876.26 million to 26 banks at an ₦1495 per dollar rate.
