In an effort to increase exports and foreign exchange inflows into Nigeria, the Nigerian Aviation Handling Corporation (NAHCO) Plc, a ground handling corporation with headquarters in Lagos, has opened an export packaging and processing center.
Speaking at the function on Friday, NAHCO’s board chairman, Seinde Fadeni, stated that the company “values the support of the government to make the business environment less challenging” because it operates in the private sector.
We now need to create a new objective because we have accomplished this. Our only request to the government on this occasion is that they be there for us should we require their assistance in our efforts to advance aviation in Nigeria in any small way, he stated.
He continued by saying that NAHCO thinks Nigeria can make a significant amount of foreign cash through the export of food.
We are here to take the initiative. The government would have to provide us with all of the assistance we require.
The chairman claims that the export of perishable goods is essential to the prosperity and way of life for a large number of Nigerians. He requested that the administration call a conference of interested parties to discuss how to proceed with the segment.
“And I say this now to all of our stakeholders: NAHCO is prepared for export business, including airlines, agencies, exporters, and farmers. This is a facility that is exclusive to Nigeria. With you in mind, it is constructed. Please make use of it.
Energy, logistics, food and beverage, aviation training, and the aviation sector are all served by NAHCO, a ground handling service provider.
Non-oil exports would need to be crucial to bolstering the country’s economic power, according to Indranil Gupta, group managing director at NAHCO.
He claimed that by creating jobs within the country and bringing foreign currencies into the country, exports boost economic development and put money into the hands of Nigerians.
