Multimedia University Students Protest over Hyena Attack

On Tuesday morning, Student of Multimedia University in Kenya protested by blocking Magadi road after a student in the school was attacked and injured by the hyena.

The student of the institution blocked the road, hurled rocks and set burnfire along the busy stretch while demanding answers from the Kenya Wild Service (KWS)over the event.

The protest caught many motorist unaware forcing them to seek alternative route through Gatanga road.

Kelvin Mwenda is a 21 year old student, which was attacked by the hyena along masai lodge road at 8pm.

Police said in a statement that Stephen Romo, who is a resident of Olmeut Village rushed to rescue him and sustained very severer injury. the two are currently at Wama Nursing Home Hospital receiving treatment .

The two were rushed to the hospital by the KWS after the incident. the student lost a thumpnand his right eye.

the attack comes exactly a month after a pack of hyena mauled a 10 year old boy to death in Gwa Kigwi Village in Juja.

Dennis Teya, a grade four pupil was said to have been walking home with his friend when they were attacked by the hyenas.

According to the incident, the other boys managed to flee from the hyena but the 10 years old boy was over powered by the wild animal.
