Presidency refutes claims of proposing ₦105,000 as minimum wage

The Presidency has debunked the news making rounds that the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Wale Edun, has proposed ₦105,000 in the new minimum wage figure.

The news was described as “false” by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a post on his X account.

“The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Wale Edun, has not proposed ₦105,000 minimum wage,” he wrote.

“The contrary story being disseminated is false.”

Earlier, on Thursday, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, submitted the projected cost implications of implementing a new national minimum wage.
