Two buses carrying passengers from the South-East of the nation to Abuja have been abducted in the Kogi State senatorial district’s Inele-Eteke Ogugu new road.
On Monday, information surfaced that kidnappers had taken control of the buses, which belonged to GIG and ABC transport companies and were traveling to Abuja, on Saturday. An additional source revealed that the GIG bus departed from Umuahia, Abia State, on Saturday morning at 7:30 am, heading for Abuja.
The source claims that the GIG firm called security agencies, who tracked the car in an effort to save the victims. The incidence has also been verified by the Kogi State Police Command in the interim.
In a statement released on Monday and provided to reporters, the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP William Ayah, said that local vigilantes, hunters, and security personnel had been called to the bush to aid in the recovery of the kidnapped victims.
