The Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government has approved Thursday, April 11, 2024, as an additional public holiday to commemorate this year’s Eid -El-Fitr which signals the end of the Islamic month of Ramadan.
This is contained in a statement authorized on behalf of the FG by Dr Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, on Tuesday (Today).
It quoted Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, as reiterating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s firm dedication and commitment to providing a safe and prosperous Nigeria for all to thrive
“The Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, while congratulating the muslim Ummah for a successful completion of a month of spiritual rejuvenation, reiterates President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s (GCFR) firm commitment to providing a safe and prosperous Nigeria for all to thrive,” the statement said.
Earlier, the Federal Government had declared Tuesday and Wednesday, April 9 and 10, 2024, as public holidays to mark celebration.
However, the crescent moon was not sighted on Monday, leading to Wednesday being declared as Eid-el-Fitr.
